FAQ

What Is The Best Time To Work? Hogs become less wary at night and tend to expose themselves in greater numbers. Because of this we tend to operate more at night. However, daylight does produce sufficient numbers, early and late, and where lack of pressure has made them unwary. Hog habits, terrain and numbers will affect our methods as well.

What About Hunting Lease Agreements? I try to accommodate whatever needs the landowner may have. By using one- to four-month service agreements I can generally operate without affecting any Hunting Lease agreements.

How Persistent Is The Abatement? The way to keep hog numbers manageable is by not letting up on your efforts. Persistence is the best medicine. If hog numbers are kept low it is easier to maintain control. If a return visit is desired for maintenance purposes, lower costs for the customer will be incurred. On that subject, if a landowner would want to schedule routine visits, then an agreement on overall service and scheduling would be determined.

What Is The Success Ratio? Our success is determined by many factors: terrain, available acreage, number of hogs, and hog habits. Based on past experience, we should be able to remove at least 30-50% of the hogs that give us the opportunity. The impact of removing a large number of the population also causes the remaining hogs to seek food and shelter elsewhere. This benefit is measurable only in the dollars saved by the landowner; however, it is an incalculable measurement in the success of the job.

Is Cost Negotiable? The per hog cost is dependent on several things: The ability to sell live hogs to people who want them could lower the cost to the customer. Having a large number of hogs on the property could lower the cost to the customer. Reaching an agreement of continuing service could reduce the cost to the customer. The up front fee is simply what it takes for me to run the business and cover costs. As stated before, several things determine the final cost. In the end we want the customer to feel that they have received good service–for a fair price.
